Following an unprecedented number of enquiries for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) projects, Power Control Ltd has appointed a new technical business development manager. With decades of electrical experience, Alex Ottaway joins the company’s southern based sales team and is responsible for developing relationships with consultants and contractors.
Alex is also charged with supporting initial project consultations and will assist with UPS specification and service planning. His vast electrical understanding and extensive range of industry connections will prove invaluable and makes him the best candidate to support the company’s overall sales strategy.
Having worked with £multimillion global corporations, Alex comes highly recommended by his colleagues. His impressive commercial experience coupled with natural technical enthusiasm and depth of industry knowledge will be central to helping the company expand into new sectors.
Commenting, Alex said: “Power Control is an incredibly progressive company and has developed a strong identity within the industry, which I have watched gather pace over recent years. This strong recognition has helped it to secure some extremely prestigious UPS projects.
“There are some very exciting UPS requirements in the industry. A lot of sites look to be investing in existing infrastructures, where significant upgrades are being made to power protection provisions. Recent events (Covid-19) have placed greater pressure on power availability and those that are able to improve facilities and have available finances are, those that are not in a position to spend now are still planning for the future. The outlook for the UPS market looks very positive with the scope of opportunities very wide ranging.
“Power Control’s aggressive growth plans and determined focus on the contractor and consultant market will undoubtedly see it win even more work. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and being part of this lovely family centric, well organised and dynamic business.”
As Power Control continues to grow at a rapid pace across the UK and Ireland the company will be expanding its sales force and technical engineering teams. Further appointments will be announced over the coming months. The company’s director Rob Mather said: “I have known Alex for a number of years and followed his career with interest. When an opportunity arose for him to join Power Control, I knew instantly he would be the perfect fit. His reputation precedes him and we are thrilled to have him as part of the team.”
