Power Control announced as finalists of the DCS awards for a second consecutive year
For the second year in a row uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provider, Power Control, has been announced finalists in the prestigious DCS Awards.
As with many business events of 2020, the DCS Awards are being held as a virtual ceremony to recognise the achievements of those working within the data centre industry. With categories covering both the facilities and IT aspects of the data centre infrastructure, Power Control are delighted to have been shortlisted for four of them with two of its recent critical power projects.
- Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year
- New Design/Build Data Centre Project of the Year
- Data Centre Consolidation/Upgrade/Refresh Project of the Year
- Data Centre Power Innovation of the Year
One of the projects saw Power Control replace eight UPS systems for prominent data centre provider Amito, reducing their CO2 by 109,062kg as a direct result. The new modular UPS systems also contributed to their improved PUE of 1.12.
In the second project Power Control designed a high efficiency microgrid, providing power for a hydrogen fuel cell that was used to showcase electric vehicles at a major UK car festival. As well as providing power for the microgrid, the requirement of one UPS to supply another was also to provide a dummy load for the fuel cell.
After winning the New Design/Build Data Centre of the Year category in last years’ DCS Awards for a future proofed modular UPS installation, Power Control is delighted to have been recognised for a second consecutive year for another one of its forward thinking critical power projects.
The voting is now live and closes on the 26th November 2020. To vote please click the link below or visit https://dcsawards.com/vote
